SUPPORT GROUPS
BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP
This ongoing support group will address the needs of members experiencing all kinds of loss including: that of a parent, partner, child, friend, job, or even physical ability. Fridays, 9-10a.m., 10-11a.m., 11a.m.-12p.m. New members are welcome to join our Center’s Advocate/Counselor, Meaghan O’Connor RN BS MBA CLNC for professional direction and peer discussion focused on coping with loss. CAREGIVE SUPPORT
Led by Meaghan O’Connor, Registered Nurse, this group is for caregivers. The stresses and strains of your efforts will be discussed and remedies offered. The goal of the group is to provide a forum for information on the effects of caregiving on the individual, provide an environment of support and help you learn how to respond to the demands of caregiving in a healthy way. Fridays 11am-12noon. Please call the Center at 383-1343 and the counselor will call you to schedule an appointment.
MACULAR DEGENERATION SUPPORT GROUP
The group has been meeting for over a decade and their purpose is to learn about the latest studies and treatment recommendations for both wet and dry types of macular degeneration. We share experiences as we learn to live with visual impairment. Those with similar eye problems are welcome. 2nd Thursday of month, 10-11:30 a.m. (September—June). New members welcome!
INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT COUNSELING
Individual counseling for those seeking to process issues of loss in their lives will resume upon hire of new counselor. Fridays, 12-3p.m. by appointment. TBA.
